Discussion
hi
I have a license question: the terms of use states "the City retains all right, title and interest in the Data, and in all copies or Derivative Works prepared by You." I assume that the license is referring to derivative works of the data - and not derivative works that use the data (such as my app). Can you clarify?
Metadata errors: The Metadata page's ENTITY AND ATTRIBUTE INFORMATION for this dataset contains errors. For example, Common_Name is described as Integer, but the database contains Strings for this field instead. Also, several field names are truncated relative to the Metadata document. E.g., Common_name is COMMON_NAM in the data. I can supply detailed info if desired.
We'll take a look at the errors you're referencing. You may also want to take a look at pdxapi.com for mobile app development. Thanks!
Hello. I downloaded the tree dataset from your website. When I looked into it I noticed that you published 286 individual trees. I can imagine that Portland has more. Do you plan to publish all trees of the city in the near future? Best, Tobias
The dataset isn't intended to have all of the trees in portland, only the "heritage trees" which I assume are trees with significant historical and cultural value.
Do you plan to publish a complete set of trees of the city in the near future?
Sorry, I do not know of any such dataset for all trees.
