A geo-location based program that lets users check in and out of paid parking spaces in the city. This would only be valuable if enough people used it, and used it well. The idea is simple, but powerful, and would allow people to more efficiently find parking throughout the city.

Definitely want this. The location aspect is an ambitious goal but I don't think we're quite there yet. To get this off the ground I recommend a non-location-based app: * People sign up for the program and receive a sticker with a bar code (or QR code). This ties their vehicle to the app. * When they park, they type in the parking location number along with how long they'd like to stay. * Customer can preload the app (similar to the Trimet Tickets app but with funds instead of tickets). I think this is a solution that can be implemented rather quickly, has lots of room for advanced features, and would be highly valuable for parking customers at low cost to the Department of Transportation.
