Portland Poetry Boxes app will provide a regional mobile map of Poetry Box locations, and enable users to share and find Poetry Boxes, and plan their walks to include Poetry Boxes. I have stumbled across Poetry Boxes in my neighborhood, but wouldn’t know how to find them intentionally.

Main navigation includes: add a Poetry Box, find Poetry Boxes near me, and log in/create profile. To add a Poetry Box, the user names it, locates it on a street map, takes a picture (optional), and adds a description. Other users can browse for Poetry Boxes nearby (which are indicated with icons on a street map that also shows parks, bus stops, neighborhood boundaries), and comment and/or vote on these boxes. Popular poetry boxes can get stars or other special notice. Include ability to remove inappropriate content.

Future versions could include books stores and poetry venues, and ability to search/filter for types of poetry. Also, add and save Poetry Walks.

I have written the screen-by-screen user experience, and will provide IA, nav, wire frames, and specs for a team that wants to collaborate on the Portland Poetry Boxes app.

Really like this one. It's not utilitarian like many others but captures something very 'Portlandy.' Your description is very well thought out and I can visualize folks using the app. This gets my vote because it's also ok to have fun and curate the experiences in your community. Life is not just fixing potholes. It's also about poetry flowing through the streets. JH

I've been gathering data for this project for about six months now, and there's a very rough beta web map of the locations available at: http://poetrybox.info

This application here, created by civicapps called the portland poetry boxes could prove to be really helpful for people and keen citizens interested on what's going on with their country and the political situations. Civicapps has actually provided really great fulfillment services that can help people get closer view and involvement with each other.
